course Cinema and Human Rights Institute Jeremiah Piscopo

This week the two classes that follow the course on volunteering continued their journey watching movies and short films . A class has seen the movie "Pater familias" shot in the municipalities close to them - and Casoria Casavatore - is a very strong film in which Matthew back from prison after many years, traces the fate of his companions that his living in the most total deviance will have very negative repercussions on their lives. Topics include crime, violence and abuse with very chilling scenes that unfortunately are telling the true reality of that segment of people living in poor conditions under all points of view, dorms in neighborhoods on the outskirts of Naples. The other class has seen three films that deal with the issue of juvenile crime in Naples, AIDS has struck an American family and dell'accattonaggio children of the favelas in Brazil.
Of the three shorts the guys were very impressed by what is the theme of AIDS, seems to be a wound not yet known above all there is ill-informed about the risks of contagion. This short film by Spike Lee is really characterized by very strong scenes that deal with the theme of racism and the prejudice and marginalization of people with this disease. The film and the short film that deals with issues of juvenile crime in Naples is known as "discounted" the boys do not marvel at the kind of scene, believe that issues daily living every day and on which little linger. Compared to the short film about Brazil
surprised by the child labor of children of the favelas that being part of that market begging aluminum glass, iron and board earn money to buy bricks for the construction of their home. It was stressed in this regard a clear and great difference that exists between the favelas and the big skyscrapers near the village where the rich govern Brazil, where nobody does anything to get those compatriots who live in utter uncertainty.
